Ray Bricknell – Managing Director & CEO

Ray Bricknell is the Managing Director and CEO of Behind Every Cloud. He has enjoyed more than 30 years in Financial Services technology and has an unique mix of commercial thought leadership.  In 2010 he founded BEC – the firm designed to provide technology & business leaders with trusted advice.  He also devised the innovative and multi-award winning “Clover index” benchmark.

With 20 years in the UK FS sector, all of Ray’s BEC engagements are at senior management level and highly commercially focussed by nature – leveraging his keen understanding of the key role that technology can play in the modern Financial Services business. In recent years his focus has been on the commercial implications of outsourcing, managed services and Cloud; and their impact on traditional IT sourcing models.

These days Ray works only on the basis of an innovative and transparent “Referral Consultant” model – which enables him to advise his clients under NDA for free; aligns all partys’ objectives completely and shares risk and reward evenly. He refuses both “Day Rate” and “Retainer”.

Ray is a keen guitarist and, as a fundraising exercise (and an excuse for his band to play) in 2008, he and Jo organised the first of an ongoing series of annual outdoor music events for the local rugby club. Last year the event hosted 20 bands and attracted 6000 people.
